We pack everything in your home from top to bottom. Our team arrives with all materials and systematically packs every room including kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, home offices, garages, basements, and attics. Each box is labeled by room and contents. Furniture is wrapped and protected. This is the ultimate hands-off option—you don't lift a finger. Typical time: 4-10 hours depending on home size. Cost: $180-650 for most homes. Perfect for busy professionals, families with young children, or anyone who wants to avoid the stress of packing.
Partial Packing (Fragile Items & Kitchens)
Our most popular packing service. We pack the challenging items while you handle clothes, linens, and other simple items. We typically pack kitchens (dishes, glassware, pots, pans), fragile items (lamps, artwork, décor, collectibles), electronics (TVs, computers, gaming systems), and specialty items (mirrors, framed photos, delicate furniture). You pack bedrooms, closets, and garage. This balances professional protection with cost savings. Cost: $90-325 for most homes.
Kitchen Packing Only
Kitchens are the most time-consuming room to pack and the most prone to breakage. Our professionals pack dishes, glassware, pots and pans, small appliances, pantry items, and utensils using specialized dish pack boxes with dividers. We've packed thousands of kitchens without damage. Typical time: 2-4 hours. Cost: $90-260. This is a popular add-on service for customers packing the rest of their home themselves.
Fragile Items & Artwork Only
Let us handle your most valuable and delicate items. We specialize in packing artwork and paintings, mirrors and glass items, antiques and collectibles, lamps and light fixtures, china and crystal, and electronics. We use custom crating for particularly valuable pieces. Perfect for homeowners with art collections, antiques, or expensive electronics. Pricing varies based on items.
Unpacking Services
Moving into your new home is exhausting. Our unpacking service helps you settle in quickly. We unpack all boxes, place items in cabinets/closets per your direction, organize kitchen items (you can rearrange later), break down all boxes and packing materials, and remove all debris from your home. Same hourly rate as packing: $45-65/hour per person. Most homes: 4-8 hours. This service is incredibly popular—you wake up in a functional home instead of surrounded by boxes.
Packing Supplies Only
Need professional-grade packing materials but want to pack yourself? We sell boxes, tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, furniture pads, and specialty containers. Materials are charged based on what you use—same as if we pack for you. This ensures you have the right supplies for safe packing.
Professional-Grade Packing Materials
Big Bear Movers uses only professional-grade packing materials that exceed retail quality. Our supplies include: Various box sizes (small, medium, large, extra-large) for different items. Dish pack boxes with built-in dividers for plates and glasses. Wardrobe boxes with hanging bars for clothes. TV and mirror boxes in multiple sizes. Bubble wrap (small and large bubble) for cushioning. Packing paper for wrapping dishes and filling voids. Furniture pads and blankets for large items. Stretch wrap for furniture and mattress protection. Heavy-duty packing tape. Custom wooden crates for extremely valuable items. All materials are included in our hourly packing rate—no separate itemized charges. If you're packing yourself and need supplies, we charge the same material costs. Our materials cost more than retail supplies, but they provide significantly better protection. Professional dish pack boxes, for example, have reinforced corners and dividers that prevent breakage during transport. Cheap boxes from retail stores are more likely to collapse or allow items to shift and break.
Professional Packing Techniques
Professional packing is about technique, not just materials. Big Bear Movers packers are trained in industry-best practices. Kitchen items: Dishes are individually wrapped and placed vertically (not stacked) in dish pack boxes with dividers. Glassware receives double wrapping. Pots and pans are nested with paper padding. Small appliances are boxed separately. Fragile items: Artwork is wrapped in bubble wrap and secured in specialty boxes. Mirrors get corner protection and cardboard between glass. Lamps are disassembled with shades packed separately. Electronics: Original boxes are ideal, but we have TV boxes in all sizes. Components are wrapped in anti-static bubble wrap. All cables are labeled for easy reconnection. Furniture: Wrapped in furniture pads and stretch wrap. Legs removed from tables. Drawers can often stay filled with soft items (clothes, linens). Mattresses wrapped in protective plastic. Labeling system: Every box is labeled with origin room, destination room, general contents, and 'FRAGILE' if applicable. This makes unpacking organized and efficient. Our systematic approach means items arrive intact and you know where everything is when you unpack.
